Lancashire Second XI won by 31 runs
Brooke Guest (73) and Arron Lilley (3/18) helped Lancashire Second XI to victory in their opening 50 over trophy match of the season against Derbyshire at Hem Heath yesterday.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first with Karl Brown and Rob Jones opening the batting for Lancashire. The pair put on 48 for the first wicket but both batsmen were dismissed in consecutive overs to leave Lancashire 48/2.
Josh Bohannon followed quickly after without scoring as Guest joined Calum Turner at the cease. Turner hit three boundaries as the pair put on 44 before being trapped lbw by spinner Matt Critchley.
Guest went to his half century but Danny Lamb (3) and George Lavelle (5) were dismissed in quick time to leave Lancashire 168/7.
Lilley (19) and Matt McKeirnan (17) supported Guest well as the visitors were restricted to 204/9 from 50 overs.
In reply, Lancashire made the perfect start taking three early wickets courtesy of one from Toby Lester and two from Danny Lamb to leave Derbyshire 16/3.
Ben Slater and Matt Critchley rebuilt well for the hosts before Dan Houghton had the former caught by Lavelle.
Lilley then dismissed Macdonnell and then Broderick in quick time before Matt McKeirnan took his first wicket to leave Derbyshire 133/7.
Lamb and Lilley then combined as the hosts were bowled out for 173, as Lancashire won by 31 runs.
