Red Rose defeat despite Parry's 86
Lancashire Second XI were beaten by two wickets in a tightly contested 50-over trophy match with Derbyshire.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first at Ticknall CC, the Red Rose made a steady start through openers George Balderson (20) and Jamie Crawley (17).
A flurry of wickets saw the visitors reduced to 65-5, however a fine 86 from the experienced Stephen Parry got the innings back on track.
Parry was supported by Sam Dorsey (13) and Ben Gibbon (31) as Lancashire were bowled out for 216 in the 49th over.
On his return to action following a back injury, Richard Gleeson made an early breakthrough with the ball, getting Tyler McGladdery caught behind by George Lavelle for seven.
Balderson (2-59) and Parry (2-32) shared two wickets apiece to help the Red Rose reduce to Derbyshire to 117-7.
But with victory in sight, Daryn Smit hit an unbeaten 36 alongside Samuel Conners' quickfire 51 - to see Derbyshire home to a two wicket win with 15 balls to spare.
