James Faulkner marked his return to Lancashire with two strong batting performances for the Second XI in T20 double-header action against Warwickshire at Moseley CC.
Faulkner, who is back ahead of the Vitality Blast campaign later this month, joined Matt Parkinson, Stephen Parry and Danny Lamb - who all featured for Lancashire Lightning last summer, in a strong looking Second XI squad.
In the first match, Lancashire batted first posting a competitive 149-7, Lamb top scoring with 65 from just 44 balls - including 11 fours. He was well supported by Brooke Guest (19) and Faulkner who struck 31 from 23 at the back end of the innings.
A strong bowling performance followed with Tom Hartley, who opened with his spin, claiming three for 26 and George Balderson three for 29, as Lancashire restricted Warwickshire to 131-9 to win by 18 runs. Parkinson (2-19) was also amongst the wickets.
Lancashire batted first once again in the second game and despite losing Ed Fluck for 0 early, recovered to make a solid start with contributions once again from Guest (14) and Lamb (29).
But it was Faulkner who sparked the innings into life, crashing 73 from 55 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes to propel Lancashire to 172-8 from 20 overs.
Parkinson was the pick of the Red Rose bowlers during the run-chase, bowling an economical four overs to finish with figures of one for 24. Jack Morley (1-38) and George Burrows (1-42) also claimed a wicket apiece.
However Warwickshire secured a seven-wicket win in the 19th over, with Michael Burgess's 53 setting up the victory for his side.
