Anderson set to miss rest of domestic season
Lancashire and England bowler James Anderson will not play again for the remainder of the domestic season.
Anderson requires ongoing rehabilitation of his right shoulder whilst Stuart Broad who last played in the NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day for Nottinghamshire last week, is recovering from an ankle problem and will not feature either for the rest of the season.
Both players have managed their injuries through the summer and a break from cricket is needed to best prepare the Test opening bowling pair for England’s winter campaign that begins this October in Bangladesh.
Good point Frank. Both Jimmy & Jos would be such a bonus for a Lancs which is otherwise going to struggle to maintain its First Division status. The last couple of months have been poor, with certain players just not good enough. We do not have match winners, either in the batting or bowling department.
Surely Jimmy's title (and that of Jos Buttler) should be 'of England and, occasionally, Lancashire.'
