Haseeb Hameed awarded Lancashire County Cap
Lancashire County Cricket Club batsman Haseeb Hameed was awarded his cap at lunch on the opening day against Middlesex.
The 19 year-old batsman has had a season to remember after hitting four centuries and seven half centuries in his first full season in First Class cricket. In fourteen matches to date in the Specsavers County Championship, the former England U19 international has scored 1,129 runs at an average of over 53.
Just last month, Hameed became the first player ever to score two centuries in a Roses County Championship fixture at Emirates Old Trafford against Yorkshire.
Monday saw him become the youngest player since the war to be awarded his Lancashire cap. Hameed has come through the Lancashire Academy and made his debut for the Red Rose last season in the Championship clash against Kent at Emirates Old Trafford.
