Josh Bohannon signs Scholarship Contract with Lancashire
Lancashire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Josh Bohannon has signed as a Scholarship player for the 2017 season.
The right handed batsman who plays for Ormskirk CC has graduated through the Lancashire Academy and featured seven times for the Lancashire Second XI in 2016. His Scholarship contract will see him work alongside the First Team squad throughout the summer.
Last year’s Scholarship players, Rob Jones and Danny Lamb, were both awarded their first professional contracts earlier this year.
Bohannon said, “It’s an honour to have been awarded a scholarship contract by the Club and this is the next stepping stone to become a professional cricketer for Lancashire. This gives me an opportunity to develop as a player and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
“The Academy has been a great driver for my development as a cricketer and a person so I’m really looking forward to getting more involved next year.”
Cricket Director and Head Coach Ashley Giles commented, “This is a fantastic opportunity for Josh and a reward for his hard work that he has put in over the last two years as part of the Academy.
“It’s great to see another Lancashire player come through the system, graduate through the Academy and push for a professional contract.”
