LCCC Foundation Update

The LCCC Foundation aims to ‘Inspire Communities through Cricket’ and is the official community arm of Lancashire County Cricket Club. The Foundation is an independent and registered charity governed by a Board of Directors working with schools and community groups to deliver a range of health, education, community cohesion and cricket development projects, programmes and events.

The following information is intended as a brief summary of the LCCC Foundation’s key achievements and points of interest between January and August 2016.

  • 1500 pupils from 42 schools provided with a high quality positive educational experience through the ‘Education Without Boundaries’ programme
  • In excess of 3500 primary school pupils and teachers from schools across the North West in attendance at the 4th LCCC Foundation ‘Schools Open Day’ held at EOT on the 21st June
  • 13 Guard of Honours opportunities provided for schools and cricket clubs at key domestic and international fixtures this season
  • 29 pupils from Stretford High School provided with 8 bespoke ‘Education Without Boundaries’ Literacy and Numeracy Intervention workshops to help them re-engage with learning
  • 54 unemployed young people receiving training and qualifications to help them develop the necessary skills to enter the jobs market as part of the Big Hit Pre Employment Programme
  • 335 pupils with physical and learning difficulties receiving coaching and competition opportunities through the Table Cricket Programme (in partnership with the LCB)
  • 61 pupils learning about healthy lifestyle choices through the Healthy Heart programme with a minimum of 10 additional workshops to be delivered by the end of the year
  • 424 attendances at Lanky’s Inclusive Arts Class for 0-5 year olds and their families
  • 955 activity sessions delivered across Trafford and Salford with 28,869 attendances as part of the Sporting Foundations for Life (SF4L) project
  • 234 young women engaged through the ‘Girls Without Boundaries’ programme; using martial arts, self-defense and dance to inspire and empower young women
  • £65,000 donated to LCCC and the LCB / umbrella groups to support the development and roll out of the ‘Thunder & Lightning Roadshow’, Schools / District cricket and County Age Group Squads
  • 244 cricket bats donated to local cricket clubs and Project Front Foot to support junior provision in the North West and in India through the ‘Community Club Cricket Bat Donation Scheme’
  • £64,000 raised to support charities that work with the homeless population in the city through CEO Sleepout Manchester which took place on May 16th at EOT
  • £17,704 raised through the LCCC Red Rose Floods Appeal, supporting those in Lancashire affected by flooding
  • £75,000 (circa) raised through funding applications, sponsorship and donations to date to support the work of the Foundation
