Rain affects opening day for Second XI at Weetwood

Rain affects opening day for Second XI at Weetwood

Just 31 overs were bowled on the opening day between Lancashire Second XI and the MCC Universities side at Weetwood Cricket Club yesterday.

Stephen Parry won the toss and elected to bat first and Mark Chilton’s side made an impressive start with openers Luis Reece and Brooke Guest putting on 81 for the first wicket.

Guest (45) was playing nicely and struck five boundaries before being dismissed by Kamau Leverock.

Rob Jones came to the crease and played fluently hitting an unbeaten 20 off 33 deliveries before the train arrived, whilst Reece hit an unbeaten 43.
