Academy finish tour with T20 victories
The Lancashire Academy finished their ten-day tour to Mumbai with two T20 victories in one day.
The GSK Academy won the toss and elected to bat first but the hosts lost three wickets in the opening nine overs to leave them 3/44.
The home side put on 44 for the fourth wicket before Sam Perry (2/6) struck twice in quick succession.
Rehan Udwadia (3/21) then, also, took two wickets in an over to leave GSK on 118/7 after their 20 overs.
George Lavelle and Udwadia (15) opened the batting for the Lancashire with the pair putting on 52 for the first wicket before the later was dismissed.
Lavelle (45) played fluently for the visitors and was well supported by Sam Oldham (21) and Sam Perry (19*) as Lancashire cruised to the target with the loss of just four wickets.
In the second game against the same opposition, Lancashire won the toss and elected to bat first. Alex Davies and Jamie Crawley (3) opened the batting with the Red Rose wicket keeper flying out of the blocks.
Davies hit a quick fire 40 off 20 balls including seven boundaries and one maximum but Lancashire collapsed from 41/0 to 66/6.
Lower order runs from Sam Oldham (39) and a useful contribution from Simon Kerrigan (14) helped the Red Rose to 125 all out after 19.2 overs.
In reply, Lancashire made the perfect start with early wickets. Tom Lawson took two quick wickets to leave the hosts 16/2.
Simon Kerrigan came into the attack and took three wickets in his four overs as Lancashire bowled GSK out for just 89 as the visitors completed a second victory of the day to complete their tour of Mumbai.
