Bohannon and Jones lead Second XI to victory
Second XI Report
Josh Bohannon (99*) and Rob Jones (80*) led Lancashire Second XI to a seven wicket win over Worcestershire in their Championship clash at Northern CC.
Worcestershire resumed on 253/5, a lead of 189 going into the final day and Lancashire made two early breakthroughs with Arron Lilley dismissing Whiteley and Luke Procter removing Milton.
Saqib Mahmood took two wickets with Liam Hurt taking the final wicket as Worcestershire were bowled out for 327 in their second innings.
Lancashire, chasing 264 to win, lost Karl Brown first ball to Hepburn.
Calum Turner and Procter rebuilt for Lancashire and the pair put on 63 for the second wicket before the latter fell.
Procter was dismissed seven overs later to leave the home side 99/3 with the game in the balance.
Rob Jones joined Josh Bohannon at the crease and the pair went about their business nicely. The Lancashire duo brought up the 50 partnership early on in the evening session.
Bohannon went to his fifty, which was followed by Jones as the pair increased the scoring rate against a tiring Worcestershire bowling attack.
The batsmen took Lancashire home with Bohannon (99*) and Jones (80*) at the close.
