Clark takes five wickets on Day Two in Dubai
Jordan Clark took five wickets on Day Two as an impressive Lancashire bowling performance saw the UAE bowled out for 184 at the ICC Academy.
Lancashire made the perfect start on the second day as Kyle Jarvis dismissed Muhammed Qasim in the sixth over.
Two quick wickets followed in the 14th and then 16th overs as Jordan Clark took the quick wickets of Srikumar and Anwar to leave the UAE 34/3.
The home team’s fortunes didn’t improve as Clark then bowled opening batsman Rohan Mustafa (28) to leave the hosts 55/4 before Stephen Parry took his first wicket of 2017 just before the lunch break.
Clark continued his spell after lunch and was rewarded with two more wickets with Mustafi and then Shahzad, both caught behind by Lancashire wicket keeper Brooke Guest.
Ghulam Shabbier and Amjad Javed both made valuable lower order contributions for the hosts putting on 58 for the eighth wicket partnership in what was a frustrating spell for the Lancashire side, particularly in the grueling Dubai heat.
Simon Kerrigan (2/22) took the wickets of Javed and Muhammad Naveed before Danny Lamb (1/12) took the final wicket of the day as the UAE were bowled out for 184 after 70 overs.
The UAE then went out to bat again in their second innings for the final hour of this red ball two-day friendly and saw the day out unbeaten.
Lancashire are next in action in Dubai in the Emirates T20 at the ICC Academy where Glen Chapple’s side take on Birmingham Bears and Lahore next week.
