England fixtures revealed for 2018 in Manchester

2018 International fixtures at Emirates Old Trafford have been revealed with Australia and India lined up for a thrilling summer of white-ball cricket in Manchester.

First up for England are fierce rivals Australia who will take on the Three Lions on Sunday 24 June in a highly anticipated Royal London One-Day International clash for the next chapter in this historic rivalry spanning almost 150 years.

England will be keen to erase the memories of the last time they faced Australia in Manchester back in 2015 as the visitors beat the Three Lions by eight-wickets at Emirates Old Trafford – taking just 24.2 overs to surpass the hosts score of 138 who were all out in just over 30 overs.

The Three Lions are set to face Australia in an ODI series down under at the start of next year…The result of which will set the tone for the fixture back on home soil in June.

But you can certainly expect a cracker at Emirates Old Trafford next summer.

International T20 cricket returns to Manchester on Tuesday 3 July after a two-year absence with T20 kings India chosen as England’s next opponents.

The last time England took on India in T20 cricket was back in February earlier this year in Bengaluru where the visiting Three Lions side lost by 75 runs.

England have since bounced back from their defeat at the hands of India and now lie in second place in the ICC T20 rankings (behind New Zealand) and will hope for a far better result in Manchester next summer.

International T20 cricket at Emirates Old Trafford has always gripped the public’s enthusiasm for the short form of the game, with last year’s T20 atmosphere between England and Pakistan described by The Guardian as “Brilliant” and has been widely regarded by former players and pundits as the ‘best atmosphere outside the sub-continent’.

And next year, with superstars Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni likely to feature, we expect tickets to sell incredibly fast for this explosive fixture.
