However, the game came at a heavy price as Joe Root and Ben Stokes both sustained minor injuries during the game, while Chris Woakes has been ruled out of the remaining fixtures in the Champions Trophy after suffering a side strain.

England will look to make it two consecutive victories on Tuesday 6 June when they face New Zealand inn Cardiff.
