Guest and Turner star in Second XI win
Second XI Report from Liverpool
Calum Turner and Brooke Guest joined forces to help Lancashire Second XI cruise to a six-wicket victory in the friendly against Middlesex at Liverpool.
The pair’s third-wicket stand of 131 played a big part in the Red Rose reaching their target of 266 for the loss of just four batsmen, with Guest finishing unbeaten on 77.
The early dismissal of opener Taylor Cornell put Lancashire on the back foot, and when Rob Jones fell for 19 with the score at 51-2 the target seemed even more daunting.

But Turner and Guest applied themselves superbly, with Turner batting for three-and-three-quarter hours and hitting seven fours in his 78 before he eventually fell to Thilan Walallawita.
The target was still 84 runs way, but a quickfire 42 from Sam Oldham, who dominated a stand of 59 with Guest, took Lancs to within touching distance.
Tom Bailey then rounded off an excellent all-round match, in which he had taken eight wickets and hit 34 in the first innings, by striking two fours and a six to help Lancs over the line with plenty of time to spare.
