Excited by England Women winning the Women’s World Cup? Want to watch the England superstars again live? Want to watch world class overseas cricketers? If the answer is yes to all 3, we have it all in store for you during the Kia Super League.
It’s exactly two weeks today before the start of the second instalment of the Kia Super League with champions Southern Vipers taking on Western Storm in the opening encounter at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
Lancashire Thunder are hoping to reach the Kia Super League Finals Day on Friday 1st September at 1st Central County Ground in Hove and have made some significant signings during the off-season in their bid to challenge for the title.
England Women’s World Cup winners Danielle Hazell and Sarah Taylor will be joined by Kate Cross in the Lancashire Thunder squad, which will also include the overseas trio of Australia’s Jess Jonassen and the Kiwi duo Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu.
Thunder have strengthened their squad with domestic signings too, with left hand top order bat Evelyn Jones signing from Loughborough Lightning with Ella Telford, Rachel Dickinson and Alice Dyson also being named in the squad.
Full squad can be viewed by visiting Lancashire Thunder squad announced for Kia Super League.
Thunder start their 2017 campaign against arch rivals Yorkshire Diamonds on Friday 11 August away at Headingley which will be televised live on Sky Sports at 2:30pm to be followed by the Roses NatWest T20 Blast clash between Yorkshire Vikings and Lancashire Lightning in what should be a memorable double header.
The opening home game is against Surrey Stars which takes place at Emirates Old Trafford at 2:30pm in another double header live on Sky Sports, before Lancashire Lightning’s NatWest T20 Blast clash against Worcestershire Rapids on Wednesday 16th August.

There is something for everyone at the Kia Super League this summer, with family entertainment, games and activities, and not to mention T20 cricket!
Bobby Cross, General Manager of Lancashire Thunder said: “We’re all extremely excited about the second season of the Kia Super League starting again in a couple of weeks’ time. Preparations are well underway with the squad having training sessions at Emirates Old Trafford.
“We are very keen to ensure ticket prices are affordable as possible for all those wanting to attend Lancashire Thunder home fixtures. We hope that we can attract new audiences to the game as Women and Girls cricket continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, following the success of last year.
“This summer has been a huge one already for women’s cricket, with the excitement of England winning the Women’s World Cup, followed shortly by the second season of the Kia Super League and then the Ashes later in the year. If there was ever a year to inspire the next generation of girls playing cricket, 2017 is the year.”
The Kia Super League will feature on television and radio this summer with Sky Sports providing live coverage of six ‘double-headers’ alongside NatWest T20 Blast matches. They will also broadcast finals day, with BBC Radio covering every round of matches, alongside finals day.
Tickets are available on general sale from just £5 for adults and £1 for juniors for the fixtures at Blackpool CC and Liverpool CC. The double header match at Emirates Old Trafford starts from just £12 for adults and £1 for children.
