Liam Livingstone awarded Lancashire Cap
Liam Livingstone was awarded his Lancashire County Cap at Monday night's AGM, just hours after leading the Red Rose to their first win of the season in the Specsavers County Championship.
The 23 year-old has had an incredible last twelve months after making his First Class debut in the opening game of last season against Nottinghamshire.
Liam Livingstone’s form in 2016 saw him nominated for the Specsavers ‘Ones to Watch’ in 2016 and has had an excellent season in all formats for Lancashire this summer. An ever present in the Lancashire side, Livingstone was also called up to the England Lions One-Day side for the series against Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A. In four-day cricket, Livingstone has hit two centuries last summer, including his maiden First Class century against Somerset. In white ball cricket, Livingstone hit a stunning half century off just 22 balls against Yorkshire Vikings in the NatWest T20 Blast before falling just short of a maiden List A century against Derbyshire as he was dismissed for 98 in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Over the winter, Livingstone had even more success with the England Lions. The twenty three year-old matched a feat only Kevin Pietersen had achieved before in the 35-year history of England B, England A and England Lions cricket to score a century in each innings of a first-class match by hitting 140 not out, following a first-innings 105 against Sri Lanka A.
If that wasn't enough, Livingstone has had a flying start to the 2017 season too. He was named Lancashire stand-in Captain with Steven Croft injured before going on to hit a career-best 168 in the victory over Somerset before being awarded his County Cap on Monday evening at Emirates Old Trafford.
