Lancashire duo named in England squad

Lancashire Captain Liam Livingstone and Keaton Jennings have both been named in a 12-man England squad to face a Cricket Australia XI, starting on Saturday at Richardson Park in Perth.

It follows another impressive summer for Livingstone as he averaged over 50 in First Class cricket, scoring 805 runs in the Specsavers County Championship, batting at three. The Barrow-born batsman then made his England debut in a NatWest International T20 against South Africa at Taunton in June.

Moeen Ali will Captain England and is the only player from the side that lost to Australia in the Second Ashes Test in Adelaide to feature.

Livingstone and Jennings and joined by four other players from the England Lions squad including Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach and Mark Wood, who are now based in Perth, alongside the senior squad.

Lancashire batsman Livingstone was named Captain of England Lions' one-day fixture on Wednesday against a Western Australia XI in the first match of the white-ball section of their training camp which the side lost. Livingstone contributed with 19, with Alex Davies hitting 17.

Meanwhile, Livingstone (1-10) and Saqib Mahmood (1-36) both took a wicket apiece today as the England Lions beat Western Australia by nine wickets in a T20 fixture at the Murdoch University ground.
