Procter hits century but Worcestershire fight back
Second XI Report
Luke Procter hit a century for Lancashire Second XI on Day Two of this Championship clash at Northern CC, but Worcestershire battled back in the evening session.
Lancashire, resuming their first innings on 176/4 at the start of the second day lost an early wicket in the form of Brooke Guest with the hosts 213/5.
Procter (103) fell shortly after but Danny Lamb gave the innings some impetus but wickets continued to fall around him.
Lancashire were bowled out for 303 with Lamb ending unbeaten on 49.
Worcestershire, in their second innings, lost two early wickets as Toby Lester dismissed Westbury and Kervezee in the space of three balls with the visitors 8/2.
Rhodes and Hepburn went about rebuilding for Worcestershire and that is exactly what they did.
Both batsman brought up their half centuries and put on 130 for the third wicket before Luke Procter dismissed Hepburn. Arron Lilley then dismissed Rhodes the following over.
Whiteley and Dell then came together and hit an important 113 for the next wicket, before the latter was trapped lbw by Rob Jones in the final over of the day.
Worcestershire closed on 253/5, a lead of 189 going into the final day.
