REACTION: Surrey CCC v Lancashire CCC Day Three

Reaction from Day Three of the Specsavers County Championship match between Lancashire County Cricket Club and Surrey County Cricket Club at the Kia Oval.

Lancashire took control of the match on Day Three as Surrey were forced to follow-on after failing to reach over 321 from their first innings.

Lancashire CCC Captain, Liam Livingstone

Lancashire captain Liam Livingstone said: "It was a really interesting day's cricket on what is still a good pitch, and the way our two main spinners bowled after lunch was one of the best bowling performances I have seen for a very long time.

"Hopefully we have set up the chance to force a win tomorrow, and we have given ourselves that chance with the way we bowled today."

Surrey Head Coach, Michael Di Venuto

Michael Di Venuto, Surrey's head coach, said: "The pitch is dry and was always going to turn but I think Gareth Batty and Tom Curran put it into perspective with the way they batted towards the back end of our innings. They showed intent, and that it is still a good surface.

"Yes, we are disappointed to be following on but I am quite pleased in a way that we didn't quite get to the follow on target because it now gives us the opportunity to show as a team that we can bat properly on it tomorrow.

"Full credit to Lancashire, and especially their two spinners, because they shut us down so that our first innings wasn't going anywhere during the afternoon and they built pressure superbly. That's also how they got the run out. But Batty and Curran showed our middle order how to play in their partnership."
