Second XI squad named
Fourteen wickets fell on the opening day of Lancashire Second XI's Championship clash against Leicestershire yesterday.
Karl Brown won the toss and elected to bowl first and the hosts put on 29 in eight overs before Lancashire made two quick breakthroughs.
Liam Hurt dismissed Evans before Toby Lester struck in the following over.
Ben Curran and Wells put on 59 for the third wicket before Matthew Parkinson trapped the former.
Simon Kerrigan picked up Lancashire's fourth wicket and then trapped Sayer lbw to leave Leicestershire 112/5.
Parkinson (6/49) then took over for Lancashire as the young spinner took the final five Leicestershire wickets, including his brother, as the hosts were bowled out for 164 after 61.5 overs.
In reply, Lancashire lost their opening wicket in the second over as Calum Turner fell cheaply. Brown (31) and Guest put on 52 for the second wicket before the former was dismissed by Sayer.
George Lavelle (33) came in at four and hit five boundaries as he and Guest put on 53 for the third wicket before Lavelle fell lbw.
Guest went to his half century before Danny Lamb was dismissed in the latter stages of the day as Lancashire finished the day 148/4 from 54 overs.
