Second XI win both T20 fixtures against Derbyshire
Lancashire Second XI won both T20 fixtures at Westhoughton Cricket Club yesterday as preparations continue ahead of the opening NatWest T20 Blast fixture
In the opening game, Derbyshire made a solid start putting on 45 for the first wicket before Tom Bailey made the opening breakthrough.
Stephen Parry then took the next three wickets to leave the visitors 74/4 before Arron Lilley took his first wicket.
Overseas batsman Henry top scored for Derbyshire with 47 as the visitors were bowled out for 141 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Lancashire lost Livingstone and Vilas early on but Arron Lilley (28), Steven Croft (36) and Ryan McLaren (43*) saw the hosts home to a four wicket win.
In the second game, Lancashire won the toss and elected to bat first. Karl Brown was dismissed early but Livingstone (64) gave the innings inputus from the first over.
His innings, from just 45 balls included three boundaries and three maximums and was supported by cameos from Lilley (29) and Vilas (20) as Lancashire posted 159/7.
Opening batsman Wood retired in the fourth over for Derbyshire and Lancashire picked up wickets on a regular basis. All of Lancashire's bowlers, apart from Livingstone, picked up a wicket with Lilley taking 2/10.
