Tomorrow, cricket returns to Emirates Old Trafford in the first day/night game of the season – with Lancashire looking to bring back the glory days of One-Day cricket to the Red Rose county.
Success in One-Day cricket is deeply embedded into the sacred turf at Emirates Old Trafford, with the Red Rose boasting arguably the greatest 50-over sides the county has ever produced. The glory days of the 1970s, 80s and 90s earned Lancashire the nickname “the Kings of One-Day cricket” and this year, Lancashire will be looking take their place on the throne by lifting to Royal London One-Day Cup trophy.
Lancashire Lightning square off against Leicestershire Foxes from 2pm tomorrow and hope to get off to a winning start in the first One-Day game of the season.
