Alex Davies and Dane Vilas named in PCA Team of the Year

Alex Davies and Dane Vilas have both been named in the Greene King Team of the Year which has been selected via the PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings.

Davies opens the batting alongside Surrey’s Championship winning captain Rory Burns, after scoring 1,605 runs across all three formats this summer, including six T20 fifties.

Vilas has the gloves following his 1,194 runs in all three formats, his unbeaten 235 against Somerset was the highest individual score in the Specsavers County Championship this season.

Six counties are represented in the Team of the Year, including at least one from every county who either won a trophy or gained promotion.

Selected ahead of the last round of County Championship fixtures and via the MVP formula, the team consists of the best performing individuals in each position with the final XI selected on batting, bowling and fielding points across all competitions as well as average MVP points per match in county cricket.
