Bailey wins Championship Player of the Year at PCA Awards
Lancashire bowler Tom Bailey was named the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) County Championship Player of the Year at last night's 2018 Natwest PCA Awards in London.
Bailey, who was also named Lancashire Cricket's Player of the Year last week, enjoyed a stunning summer with the red ball as he finished as the Specsavers County Championship's leading wicket taker with 64.
There was also recognition for Lancashire and England duo James Anderson and Jos Buttler, who claimed Specsavers Test Player of the Summer and Royal London One-Day International Player of the Summer respectively.
Anderson enjoyed another fine summer of Test match cricket for England, with his final wicket of the series against India making him the leading all-time seam bowler in Test cricket with 564.
Meanwhile, Buttler enjoyed a strong summer in all three forms of the game, but his performances with the white ball in ODI and T20I cricket particularly caught the eye and he also cemented his place in the Test side with a maiden century following his recall.
The Red Rose were represented in the Greene King Team of the Year with Alex Davies and Dane Vilas both included for their performances across all three formats.
Finally, Lancashire Thunder and England spinner Sophie Ecclestone won the Natwest Women's Player of the Year, following a spectacular year in both domestic and international cricket.
19-year-old Ecclestone took 15 wickets in the Kia Super League at an average of just 15 and was also named Player of the International Tri-Series with New Zealand and South Africa following her 10 wickets.
