Former President Sir Dennis Landau passes away

Lancashire Cricket is deeply saddened to hear that former President, Honorary Treasurer and current Vice President, Sir Dennis Landau, has passed away.

Sir Dennis became Honorary Treasurer at the Club in 1998 and fulfilled the role for four years.

He was then named President in 2003, a position he held for three years, fulfilling the role with a friendly and astute manner, becoming a very popular figure around the Club.

Away from cricket, he was one of the leading North-West businessmen with an impressive track record with the Co-op in particular.

Lancashire's Chairman David Hodgkiss OBE, who was Treasurer when Sir Dennis was President, said: “He was a perfect gentleman, a true professional and I thoroughly enjoyed working him. He served the Club very well and will be missed.

"Everyone's thoughts at the Club are with his family and friends."

The flags at Emirates Old Trafford are at half-mast to honour him.
