Glamorgan enjoy best of opening day in Cardiff
Saqib Mahmood and Keaton Jennings both took two wickets on a tough opening day for Lancashire against Glamorgan at the SSE SWALEC today.
Lancashire won the toss and elected to bowl first as Tom Bailey and Saqib Mahmood shared the new ball for the visitors.
Glamorgan reached 83/0 at lunch with Nick Selman and Jack Murphy at the crease for the hosts. Saqib Mahmood bowled Selman for 36 before dismissing Murphy departed in identical fashion to his opening partner to leave Glamorgan 95/2.
Carlson and Brown put on 95 in the afternoon with Glamorgan reaching tea on 190/2. The former completed his century from 112 balls before retiring not out on 106.
Brown continued to accumulate but on 85 he was trapped lbw trying to sweep Stephen Parry.
Lloyd then drilled a ball straight back to Jennings who caught the ball in his follow through before ennings then claimed a second scalp as with the final ball of the day he bowled Donald for 29.
Glamorgan closed the day on 331/5.
