Guest and Lavelle secure win for Second XI
Lancashire's Second XI completed victory on a thrilling fourth and final day of their ran affected match against Middlesex at Radlett CC.
With Day One and Three completely lost to rain, Lancashire were forced to declare their first innings on 152-3, still trailing by 90, to try and force a result on Day Four.
Middlesex crashed a further 203-4 in just 31 overs in the morning session, Mark Watt (2-39), Liam Hurt (1-19) and Tom Hartley (1-42) with the wickets for Lancashire.
The visitors were set a target of 294 to win and went about it in style through openers Karl Brown (73) and George Balderson (41) who raced to 98 for the first wicket.
Both were dismissed quickly as was Sam Perry for six, which brought Brooke Guest and George Lavelle to the crease with 155 still needed to win.
The pair raced beyond their respective fifties to put Lancashire in the driving seat and by the team that Lavelle was dismissed for 82 from 95 balls, the Red Rose required just seven more.
Guest remained to see his side home and finish unbeaten on 85 which included 12 fours and a six, as Lancashire beat the clock in the final session and completed a five-wicket win.
