Hameed carries his bat for Second XI
Haseeb Hameed carried his bat to finish unbeaten on 183, as Lancashire were bowled out for 383, on a rain affected Day Two of their Championship clash with Leicestershire at Blackpool.
Following a delay for a wet outfield, the Red Rose resumed mid-afternoon on 270-7, with Hameed 131* and Liam Hurt 35*.
Hurt was dismissed early on for 40, but Hameed continued to motor and moved beyond his 150, as he was joined by Chris Sanders who added a valuable 46 to help his side pass 350.
When Tom Hartley was dismissed for 8, Hameed was left stranded on 183 not out from 209 balls, including 24 fours, after batting through the entire innings.
Sanders made an early breakthrough with the ball in just the second over, to leave Leicestershire 1-1.
He struck twice more in the evening session to end the day with figures of 3-30, as the visitors closed on 95-3, still trailing by 288 runs.
Lancashire will be looking for early wickets, to try and force a result on the third and final day.
