HIGHLIGHTS: Lancashire Lightning v Northants Steelbacks
Alex Davies hit a powerful 64 to see Lancashire comfortably chase down Northants 123-9 in the Vitality Blast clash at Emirates Old Trafford.
Following some big hitting from Northants’ top order, wickets began to fall at regular intervals with Jordan Clark taking a lighting reaction catch off his own bowling to dismiss the dangerous Richard Levi, with Aaron Lilley taking a fantastic catch right on the boundary to send Josh Cobb on his way.
The Northants innings failed to recover following some great Lancashire fielding, with Lilley taking another boundary catch to dismiss Rory Kleinveldt as Northants struggled to 123-9.
The Lancs innings got off to a worrying start with skipper Liam Livingstone top edging one to the keeper for 2. Davies and Lilley kept Lancashire going, with Lilley hitting a fantastic scoop shot for 4 off Ben Sanderson. A shot too many from Lilley saw him caught by Levi off a thick edge to short third man. Lancs powered on with Davies hitting some fantastic shots down the wicket including a big 6 off Cobb to take him within a shot of his 50, which he duly reached as Lancs reached their total with 4 overs to spare.
