James Anderson named England vice-captain for New Zealand series
Lancashire bowler named vice-captain
Lancashire and England bowler James Anderson has been named as England vice-captain for the upcoming Test series in New Zealand.
Anderson, 35, is England’s leading wicket taker with 523 wickets in 134 Test Matches for the Three Lions and has been selected as Joe Root’s second-in-command. He was named vice-captain ahead of the Ashes at the end of last year and will continue the role.
2017 has been a memorable year for the Burnley born star, whose achievements for Lancashire and England were recognised by the renaming of the Pavilion End to the James Anderson End at Emirates Old Trafford in the summer.
The first Test Match starts on Thursday 22 March at Eden Park.
