James Anderson set for Lancashire comeback

James Anderson is expected to make his first domestic appearance of the season for Lancashire next month in the Specsavers County Championship.

Anderson will train at Emirates Old Trafford over the next two weeks and is set to be available for Lancashire’s home match against Somerset (4 – 7 May) and then the away game against Nottinghamshire (11 – 14 May) at Trent Bridge.

“We know Jimmy loves playing for Lancashire, and having him back in contention will be a real boost,” said Lancashire Head Coach Glen Chapple.

Anderson could go head to head against his England new-ball partner Stuart Broad in the Notts game, as Broad has been made available for three matches starting with their trip to Worcestershire this weekend.
