Lancashire Academy head to Oman for warm-weather training camp
Academy squad head to Oman, sponsored by the William Hare Group
The Lancashire Cricket Academy squad will fly out to Oman next week for an eight-day warm weather training camp, accompanied by First Team players Jordan Clark and Tom Bailey with the trip being sponsored by the William Hare Group.

Two one-day fixtures and two T20 fixtures have been arranged for the squad against a national Omani A team and Nottinghamshire’s Academy.
The tour, arranged the Global Cricket School, will provide the Academy players with a holistic cricketing experience and valuable match practice ahead of the UK domestic season. The fixtures, including a day/night game against Notts, will be played at Al Amerat Ground which will expose the squad to different conditions.
As well as Academy Director Gary Yates, the group will be accompanied by Director of Cricket Paul Allott, Second XI Coach and Lead Analyst Chris Benbow and Director of Medical Services David Roberts.
The Lancashire First XI duo of Jordan Clark and Tom Bailey will also join up with the squad in preparation for the 2018 campaign.
Gary Yates said, “I would firstly like to thank William Hare for sponsoring and supporting this fantastic opportunity for our Academy squad as we head over to Oman.
“After last year’s successful Academy tour to Mumbai, this will provide the squad with another opportunity for them to experience different playing conditions to what they are used to.
“It is important for the Club to create different outdoor learning experiences which will help our best talents to evolve as players and individuals.
“It is great to have Jordan Clark and Tom Bailey travelling with us on this tour. The Academy players will be able to gain extra knowledge from their professionalism and skills.
Paul Allott, added, “This tour is going to be a fantastic opportunity for our young players in the Academy to play in conditions that they are not used to.
“I am a firm believer that trips like these can certainly accelerate a players development and I’m very much looking forward to seeing all the players in action, representing the Red Rose.
“It will also be a great opportunity for them to learn from the likes of Tom Bailey and Jordan Clark who are now established players in the Lancashire squad having both come through the Academy system.
“Finally, I would also like to echo the thoughts of Gary and pass on the Club’s thanks to William Hare for supporting this trip.”
