Glen Chapple: The Roses Match goes wild
WATCH: Glen Chapple talk about the Roses rivalry
Lancashire Cricket Club Head Coach Glen Chapple recently caught up with Lancashire Cricket TV to talk about the biggest rivalry in domestic cricket – Lancashire v Yorkshire.
The Red Rose will face their Pennines rivals for the first time in 2018 on Tuesday 5 June in the Royal London One-Day Cup at Emirates Old Trafford, before biggest domestic game of the summer – the #GameofRoses Vitality Blast clash - lands in Manchester.
Set to take place at Emirates Old Trafford on Friday 20 July, the Lancashire Lightning v Yorkshire Vikings Vitality Blast fixture is undoubtedly the most highly anticipated game of the season – with tickets sold out weeks in advance over the last four consecutive years.
Speaking on the fierce rivalry, Lancashire’s former Captain turned Head Coach said “It’s very important that you come out on top. When we come up to the T20 stuff, people talk weeks in advance and you’ll get people coming and saying they’ve got their tickets.”
“[The atmosphere is] bouncing, you’ve got both sets of fans going at it, and if you’re lucky enough to have a close game, it goes wild.”
