Livingstone stakes a claim for starting Test spot
Livingstone top scorers for England
Liam Livingstone staked a claim for a starting spot in England's Test side overnight as the Lancashire Captain top scored against a New Zealand XI in Hamilton.
The 24 year-old hit 88 off 113 deliveries as England were bowled out 195. The game was with the pink ball under lights.
It was agreed that England would bat all day and they closed the day on 319/14 as England continue their preparations for the two-match Test series.
Speaking to BBC Test Match special, Livingstone said, "It's important for the lads to get back playing under the lights and getting used to pink ball cricket
"It was a pretty disappointing day for the side but we've still got another two days to prepare for the series. The pitch with the new ball was pretty bowler friendly. I found it tough early on but once you got in, it became easier."
