Second XI batsmen dominate on Day Two
Lancashire Second XI build first innings lead
Rob Jones hit an unbeaten double century and Karl Brown a century as the pair put on 252 for the second wicket as Lancashire built a huge lead on Day Two of their Second XI friendly against Gloucestershire.
Lancashire resumed on 79/1, trailing by 281 runs - with Jones and Brown together at the crease.
Brown went past 50 early on and the Red Rose never looked back as the pair piled on the runs.
By the time lunch arrived, the score had move onto 269/1 with Brown beyond three figures and Jones 99 not out.
Jones brought up his century immediately after the interval and the second wicket stand soon moved past 250.
When Brown was eventually dismissed for 146, Brooke Guest joined Jones at the crease and the runs continued to flow.
Lancashire moved ahead of Gloucestershire's 360 as Jones brought up his 150.
Guest was bowled by Oliver Currill for 75, but that only brought in the in-form Josh Bohannon, who added a quickfire 42 from 38 balls.
As the day which was dominated by Lancashire moved towards its conclusion, Jones brought up his double hundred, an outstanding effort from the 22-year-old.
The Red Rose ended the day on 593/5 from just 119 overs, with a lead of 233 and Jones unbeaten on 221 heading into the final day.
