Three wickets for Lester on opening day of Second XI match
Lancashire bowl Warwickshire out for 407 on opening day
Toby Lester took three wickets on Day One of Lancashire Second XI's Championship match against Warwickshire at Chester Boughton Hall CC.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on a hot day but Lester struck twice in his opening spell to leave Warwickshire 32/2.
Ed Pollock (57) and Aaron Thomason (89) showed resistance in the middle order, but the Red Rose continued to take regular wickets around them.
Liam Hurt (2/78), Steven Croft (2/28) and Josh Bohannon (1/31) all got amongst the wickets.
Lancashire were frustrated by lower order batsman Daniel Douthwaite (86) and Sukhjit Singh (51) who added quick and valuable runs to take the score beyond 400.
Warwickshire were bowled out for 407, leaving Lancashire a tricky short session to survive at the end of Day One.
Opening batsman Karl Brown went for a duck, leaving Jamie Crawley (13*) and Croft (16*) unbeaten at the close, with Lancashire on 29/1 - trailing by 378.
