VOTE: Hilton Garden Inn Player of the Month for September

Hilton Garden Inn Player of the Month – September

Voting is now open for Lancashire’s Hilton Garden Inn Player of the Month for September.

Hilton Garden Inn will be offering successful drawn voters a free hotel break at one of their hotels around the world. Competition winners will be contacted once the vote is completed on the 7 October 2018.

The nominations are as follows...

Tom Bailey

The Specsavers County Championship Division One’s leading wicket taker added a further 16 to his tally during September, including eight in the final match away to Hampshire to finish top of the pile with 64 for the season.

Earlier in the month, Bailey had taken 3/18 and 4/69 at Headingley against Yorkshire, before rounding his season off with impressive spells of 4/57 and 4/43 at The Ageas Bowl.

The 27-year-old seamer was also named Lancashire Cricket’s Player of the Year at Friday’s End of Season Awards.

Graham Onions

The former England seamer capped off a fine debut season with the Red Rose by claiming 12 wickets in his two Specsavers County Championship appearances last month.

Onions played a pivotal role in the sensational Somerset tie, following up his 3/40 in the first innings with 3/28 in the second, as Lancashire bowled out the hosts for just 78 – the 36-year-old also bowled a maiden over with the scores level before Keshav Maharaj took the final wicket.

The former England seamer was named Lancashire's Championship Player of the Year on Friday night.

Keshav Maharaj

The South African international spinner was brought in at the back end of the season and announced himself to the Red Rose faithful with 11 wickets in the tie at Somerset, including 7/37 in the second innings, as he dismissed the final two batsmen to seal the tie.

Maharaj followed that performance up with three wickets in the Roses game to finish with 14 wickets from his two matches during September.
