14 man squad named for Northants Championship clash
Head Coach Glen Chapple has named a 14 man squad for Lancashire's Specsavers County Championship clash against Northamptonshire tomorrow.
Australian batsman Joe Burns arrived in Manchester last week and is set to make his debut for the Red Rose.
The Northants fixture has come too soon for Alex Davies, who is closing in on a comeback from a broken right thumb suffered at Lord’s last month, while Jimmy Anderson has been ruled out after taking a blow to his left knee whilst bowling against Hampshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Liam Hurt (dislocated knee cap) and Danny Lamb (neck) are the only other absentees through injury.
Lancashire come into the game after a much improved Royal London One-Day Cup campaign having reached the knockout rounds for the first time since 2012. The Red Rose were unfortunately beaten by Hampshire in Sunday's semi-final at the Ageas Bowl.
Glen Chapple's side beat Middlesex in their first Specsavers County Championship clash in early April.
