14 named for Vitality Blast opener
Head Coach Glen Chapple has named a 14-man squad for Lancashire Lightning's Vitality Blast 2019 opener at Leicestershire Foxes tomorrow.
Liam Hurt, who suffered a dislocated right knee cap whilst batting against Derbyshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup, returns to the Lancashire squad for the first time. Danny Lamb is also named in the squad, after a number of impressive performances for the Second XI, following a neck injury earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, James Anderson (calf), Tom Bailey (knee) and Saqib Mahmood (abdominal) are all back in training following their respective injuries in recent weeks. Yesterday, Anderson was named in the England Test squad for their game against Ireland at Lord’s.
Liam Livingstone, who suffered a side strain in the Specsavers County Championship fixture against Durham at Sedbergh School, is set to miss the first part of the Vitality Blast. He continues his rehabilitation with the Club’s Medical Team at Emirates Old Trafford.
