Balderson helps England to tri-series final
The all-rounder added three more wickets to an impressive tour as England secure a top two finish in the Caribbean
Young Lancashire all-rounder George Balderson was again the standout performer as England under-19s secured a place in the final of the ongoing tri-series in the West Indies.
Balderson, who has opened the bowling throughout the tour so far, took three more wickets yesterday (15 December) to book his side's place in the final with a game to spare.
He finished with figures of 3/18 off seven overs as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 113 inside 43 overs at Coolidge and has taken 11 wickets in four games so far, the third highest tally of any player from all three countries.
Balderson was unbeaten on eight at the end as England scrapped their way to the target to win by four wickets with 17 overs to spare.
The win took them above their opponents with one game to play. With West Indies bottom of the standings and four points behind with only two left to play for, England and Sri Lanka will face off again in the final on 21 December.
They first play each other again on 19 December in Coolidge to round off the group stages.
