Cricket Expo: Bumble confirmed for keynote address

David "Bumble" Lloyd joins Michael Vaughan on Cricket Expo line-up

Lancashire's own David "Bumble" Lloyd has been confirmed as the latest keynote speaker for next year's Cricket Expo at Emirates Old Trafford

The cricket and commentating legend will be in conversation with the Expo compere in a Q&A session on all things cricket.

Lloyd joins Michael Vaughan in an exciting line up for the free event, which takes place on Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March 2020.

The 72-year-old is one of the most recognisable personalities in cricket and enjoyed an 18 year-long career with his home county Lancashire.

A left handed batsman and spin bowler, Lloyd played nine Tests for his country as well as eight One Day Internationals.

After retiring, he became a First-Class umpire before taking on the roles of both Lancashire and England coach, the latter coming to an end after the 1999 World Cup.

Lloyd has since established a successful media career as a regular commentator for Sky Sports since 1999, covering England’s Test and ODI cricket, but is best known for his energetic commentary of T20 cricket.

He is a highly sought after personality and his wide-ranging experience within cricket, from playing, umpiring, coaching and the media ensures his anecdotes will captivate the imagination of all Cricket Expo attendees.

During the Expo, the whole of Emirates Old Trafford will be dedicated to providing a platform of activities, informative workshops, and suppliers exhibiting the latest products and solutions to assist in the running of a Cricket Club.

Clubs are encouraged to bring multiple members along, from players and coaches, to groundsman and administrators, and any volunteers involved in day-to-day club life.

Head of Cricket Business, Warren Hegg said: “We’re thrilled to be able to confirm such a huge Lancashire Cricket icon as our second keynote speaker for next year’s Cricket Expo.

“Bumble has seen it all and experienced the game at every level from playing, umpiring, coaching and now in his role with Sky Sports. His tales will interest and enthuse all cricket fans out there.

“Alongside Michael Vaughan, we’re putting together a really exciting event that cricket lovers will be able to come and experience for free here at Emirates Old Trafford.

“With the line-up and announcements that are still to come, this is two days that are not to be missed!”
