Defeat for Second XI at Leicester
Lancashire beaten by 71 runs away to Leicestershire in Second XI Trophy
Lancashire's Second XI were beaten by 71 runs at Leicestershire in their Second XI Trophy clash on Monday.
The day started well for the Red Rose with their bowlers impressing to dismiss the home side for 165.
Tom Hartley (3-42), Toby Lester (2-26) and Ed Moulton (2-22) put a strong Leicester batting line-up, that included former player Arron Lilley (21), on the back foot.
George Burrows (1-16), George Balderson (1-37) and Jack Morley (1-9) also took one wicket each to bowl Leicestershire out in 47 overs.
Lancashire lost Jamie Crawley for a duck in the first over but a strong partnership between Brooke Guest (27) and George Lavelle (40) took them to 57-1.
However their departures brought a batting collapse with another ex-Lancashire man Gavin Griffiths (4-25) and Dieter Klein (5-26) doing the damage.
Lancashire were bowled out for 94 in the 33rd over, to succumb to a 71-run defeat at Lutterworth CC.
