Gleeson, Livingstone debut in BBL
The pair have featured in the opening rounds of Australia's Big Bash League, the ninth edition of the tournament
Richard Gleeson and Liam Livingstone have made their Big Bash debuts in the first round of fixtures played this week.
Gleeson, drafted in by Melbourne Renegades, made his debut in today's (19 December) encounter with Sydney Thunder, while Livingstone played for Perth Scorchers against Sydney Sixers yesterday.
The 32-year-old returned figures of 1/36, taking the wicket of Thunder captain Callum Ferguson LBW for four.
A final over run out of Matthew Gilkes gave the Renegades slight hope but with just six to defend, the Thunder eased home with two balls to spare.
Livingstone's Scorchers also suffered an opening defeat, going down to a heavy eight-wicket defeat at the SCG.
Batting first, the Scorchers were only able to post 131 and the hosts chased it down comfortably. Opening the batting, Livingstone was dismissed for a second ball duck to a Ben Dwarshuis ball which pitched outside leg stump.
The pair are set to go head-to-head in the next game at Optus Stadium on 21 December.
