Gleeson signs for Melbourne Renegades
The Lancashire seam bowler has signed a deal for the ninth edition of Australia's Big Bash League
Richard Gleeson has signed a contract with Melbourne Renegades to play in BBL09.
The 32-year-old will head out to Australia in the coming days ahead of the tournament, which begins next Tuesday (17 December).
Gleeson replaces Pakistan internationals Usman Shinwari and Faheem Ashraf, who are now unavailable, following a stint in the Abu Dhabi T10 League with Team Abu Dhabi.
He joins fellow Red Rose player Liam Livingstone in the tournament after he penned a deal to join three-times Champions Perth Scorchers.
The pair are set to face off against each other on 21 December at Optus Stadium, home of the Scorchers, with the return fixture scheduled for 7 January in Geelong.
Melbourne's first game comes against Sydney Thunder a week today (19 December), also in Geelong.
The Big Bash will be broadcast live via BT Sport in the UK.
