Guest and Dorsey hit unbeaten half centuries for Second XI
Lancashire pair shine on Day Two of Leagues XI clash
Brooke Guest and Sam Dorsey struck unbeaten half centuries on the second and final day of Lancashire Second XI's two-day friendly against a Leagues XI at Northern.
Resuming on 9-1 and trailing by 242 runs, Lancashire lost both Josh Bohannon and George Lavelle in quick succession before Guest and Ed Fluck added 51 to weather the early storm.
Once Fluck had departed, bowled by Luke Williams for 13, Dorsey arrived at the crease and both he and Guest scored well.
Both past fifty as they put on an unbroken stand of 104, before the Red Rose declared on 167-4. Guest's 79 not out included 12 fours and a six, while Dorsey struck seven fours.
With the ball in hand George Burrows inflicted some early damage to leave the Leagues XI 27-2, however Matthew Morris built on his first innings 34 at number three to score an unbeaten 61.
Burrows (3-33) collected another wicket in the middle order, while Josh Bohannon (1-19) and Tom Hartley (1-28) took one apiece.
The final wicket of the day to fall was that of Toby Mowat for 51, as the Leagues XI closed 139-5 to end two highly competitive days of cricket.
