Hartley hits 54 on opening day of Yorkshire clash

Tom Hartley scored a half century on the opening day of a young Lancashire Second XI's two-day friendly against Yorkshire at Scarborough.

Prior to the game, it was agreed that both side's would bat for one full day each, regardless of wickets lost.

Lancashire wicket keeper batsman George Lavelle, who signed professional terms with the Club during the winter, captained the Red Rose and scored 17, batting at number three.

Nick Greenwood added 44 in the middle order, supporting Hartley, who's 54 runs came from 122 deliveries and included four boundaries.

Ben Gibbon (19) and Ben Aitchison (17) also added useful contributions down the order.

During their second knocks of the day, Lavelle finished 23 not out and Ed Fluck ended unbeaten on 21 as Lancashire closed the day on 258-13.
