Young side beaten at Scarborough

Lancashire's Second XI were beaten by 210 runs against Yorkshire at Scarborough in their opening Second XI Trophy match of the season.

Captain George Lavelle won the toss and elected to bowl first and the hosts made a strong start with the bat reaching 239-2.

But Lancashire's bowlers fought back with Rob Lord (4-61), Ben Gibbon (2-44), Ed Moulton (2-61) and Tom Hartley (1-46) restricting Yorkshire to 314-9.

SCORECARD

The young Red Rose side never really got going with the bat against an experienced Yorkshire XI.

Sam Dorsey (20) and Nick Greenwood (46) top scoring as they were bowled out for 104.

The Second XI are back in Trophy action again on Tuesday against Derbyshire at Ticknall CC.
