Lancashire beaten by the USA in Dubai

Tom Hartley impresses with the bat, but Lancashire defeated

Lancashire were beaten by the USA on Tuesday in Dubai by six wickets despite an impressive knock from youngster Tom Hartley at the ICC Academy.

The USA won the toss and elected to bowl first with Haseeb Hameed and Keaton Jennings opening the batting for the Red Rose.

Jennings struck three early boundaries before being caught by off spinner Nosthush Kenjige, who later went on to take five wickets.

Hameed was joined by Josh Bohannon who struck three boundaries before Kenjige struck again, dismissing the Lancashire all-rounder.

Kenjige then dismissed Rob Jones, Steven Croft and Brooke Guest in quick succession to leave Lancashire struggling.

Tom Hartley came in and played a brilliant innings for Lancashire and brought up his half century from 79 deliveries before finishing the 75 not out.

Lancashire were bowled out for 220 with one ball left of the innings.



In reply, Lancashire made the perfect start with Liam Hurt taking a wicket in the first over. He took his second to leave the USA 44/2 after ten overs.

The USA duo of Xavier Marshall (75) and Aaron Jones (84*) saw the USA home with Matt Parkinson taking two wickets, but it wasn't enough.
