Lancashire Cricket and Trafford Live to join up once again on Sunday 21 July
Trafford Live returns this summer
Lancashire Cricket Club and Trafford Council are set to host the biggest family day out of the summer on Sunday 21 July.
Following last summer’s highly successful event, Lancashire Cricket is delighted to once again be joining forces with Trafford Council, as the Club incorporates the Durham Vitality Blast fixture as part of their family friendly, Trafford Live event which celebrates the best of Trafford.
The joint festival, a free event, will be held within the grounds of the Town Hall on Talbot Road and the Foster’s Fan Village at Emirates Old Trafford will be open for all to attend. Visitors can experience a host of events, activities and displays designed to showcase the Borough’s sports, history and culture offering, with a bit of everything for both the young and old to enjoy.
The Emirates Old Trafford Foster’s Fan Village will be free to enter, with reduced ticket prices available, for Trafford residents to come and cheer on Lancashire Lightning, in their first home Vitality Blast clash of the summer from 2.30pm. Tickets bought in advance will cost a discounted £5 for adults and juniors from £1.
Last summer’s event saw the family stand sell out completely ahead of the match with an attendance of nearly 10,000 for the Club’s game against Northants, which included a link-up with the popular ECB All Stars Cricket initiative where each child that signs up in Lancashire gets a free ticket alongside a half priced ticket for adults.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire Cricket Club, said: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Trafford Council to get involved with Trafford Live once again. We have a fantastic relationship with the council and we’re really looking forward to being part of this long-standing community event for a second year running.
“It is a brilliant event for the people of Trafford to attend, there was a fantastic turn out last summer and we hope to welcome even more local residents through the gates of Emirates Old Trafford this year, to watch the likes of Liam Livingstone, Glenn Maxwell and James Faulkner in action for Lancashire Lightning’s fixture against Durham.”
Cllr Andrew Western Leader of Trafford Council, added: “Trafford is home to some of the best sport, culture and leisure attractions in the world as well as boasting fantastic grass roots and community organisations. At Trafford Live we bring all of these together in a fun filled celebration and we were delighted to join with Lancashire Cricket Club last year to make the event even better!
“This summer we plan to grow the event and make it bigger and better. We are really pleased that Lancashire Cricket have agreed to join us once more.”
