Lancashire U19s seal consecutive county titles
Six Counties Champions 2019
Lancashire Cricket U19s were crowned back-to-back County Champions following a thumping win over Roses rivals Yorkshire by an innings and 130 runs.
The side, managed by David Moss and coached by Atiq-Uz-Zaman, headed into the second and final day with a first innings score of 358-7 on the board.
The Lancashire runs came courtesy of Owen Feakes (138*), Joe Ball (47) and Kurtis Watson (42).
With a strong total on the board, Day Two saw the Red Rose bowlers take command at Elland CC.
An excellent spell from Robert Lord put Yorkshire under pressure from the start. He took two early wickets and there was also one for Ollie Sutton.
Lancashire's spinners both bowled before lunch and took a wicket each with Yorkshire in trouble on 131-8 at the interval.
Watson took two quick wickets after the break to bowl the home side out for 158 - with Lord (3-19) and Watson himself (3-15) the pick of the Lancashire bowling attack.
The follow-on was enforced, with victory needed to confirm the title.
With 67 overs remaining in the day, a remarkable opening spell of 4-14 by Ollie Sutton saw Yorkshire in disarray at 30-4.
This was followed up by an excellent Lord spell which produced 3-9 and a run out.
It was fitting that Ollie Sutton returned to take the last wicket finishing with 5-14 and Yorkshire 70 all out, to seal a second straight Six Counties Cup title for Lancashire.
